Towel love

I like my towels to be handy, convienent and to function practically.  In the kitchen I like my towels to stay where I need them. Hence, I like to hang my towel on the oven door.  I used to buy towels with ties on them.  For some unknown (probably fashion) reason they are impossible to find anymore.  So I have hung on to my disgusting old ones because no matter what you may try, a towel neatly hung over the bar falls on the floor after someone uses it.
These old and dingy towels are being sent to the old-towels-home in the garage, where they can get oil, grease, paint and garden grime on them because.....
My daughter-in-law, Natalie made me 6 of these wonderful NEW kitchen towels.  She claims she did not know I had a crazy wierd passion about my "hunt for the perfect oven towel" problem....
but I'm glad to have these and get rid of the old ones!!!

Texas Time

We (Karl, Myself and Laura) took a short trip to Texas this last weekend to connect with Kenny, Natalie and the kids there.  We have never even had a chance to meet our new granddaughter, who is now 6 months old!   It was so great to see the kids and spend a little time with them.  It's tough to find time with all our schedules to take trips like this, Karl is especially tricky now with his commitment to the Choir, so we grabbed the chance while we could even if it meant going in the cold, wet month of January.

Look What I Found in Texas!!

Was in the Target store getting some Rapunzel dolls for my granddaughters, and I happened by this lovely item on the end of the isle in Clearance:

Now, I need to get to work on the pillows! The clearance tag says $20!  such a find!

The opposite of a Man Cave is......

When my kids began moving out I was able to reclaim bedroom space for ME!  With some of my Christmas bonus money I went to IKEA, and organized my craft room.  A word about IKEA...we went when they first opened and I thought I was going to be sick before I got out of that place!  Didn't think I would ever go back because of the way they herded us through their showroom and all of the stuff seemed so cheap, (as in poor quality).  So, when they sent me a catalog last year I was able to slowly pick through it and decided I could go back.  I still think the quality of a lot of stuff is poor-- but it is affordable for those getting started or if you are looking for temporary furnishings.   Thanks for letting me vent.
So I bought one of the cube shelves and put it together one afternoon and I am happy with my fun space.  But it needs a clever name.  Now it's just "the sewing room" or "craft room" and I hope to spend a bunch of time in there this winter getting caught up on sewing and scrapbooking projects.

I also would love to find a black, twin size quilt for the daybed.  Black with white floral or leaf pattern.  I haven't ever spotted a fabric at the fabric store that I am crazy about.
What do I call my cave????

I love the Men.......

I am a bit prejudiced, well, A LOT prejudiced, but I just LOVE the new CD

5053126_men_of_the_motab_product

It has a great variety, I'm loving the Billy Joel song - completely accappella.

Run out and get one today!!!

And I mostly love just one of the men - whose picture can be found inside the front cover- kind of a "Where's Waldo" experience.  Let me know what you think.
