Spring 2016

I was driving home from work one day, and realized I am so lucky to drive down my neighborhood street with this kind of a view, everyday.
For the past six years, the Larry H Miller group has done a day of service on Larry's birthday. This year, my company went to the boys and girls club in West Salt Lake and painted, clean, organized, detailed their vans, scrub the gym floor, and in general made a big difference.  There were over 2,000 people in seven states doing similar projects. Our outdoor project of painting the building became an indoor project because of rain. It's pretty fun to see , because we swoop in with our volunteers and accomplish incredible things in four hours of one morning.
This week, Karl and I were able to go to see this incredible show called Cavalia.
I have never seen Cirque du Soleil before, so this was a really fun experience for us. It was 50% horse tricks and 50% incredible acrobatics.
The tickets are super pricey, so I was very excited when Fox 13 offered us two free tickets.
The whole thing was set up in a giant white tent in the parking lot of one of our malls. We have not yet perfected the art of the "selfie".

Family (most of us) Retreat

We rented a cabin for the second year on Island Park reservoir in Idaho. We really enjoyed this place. However this year the reservoir was at 39% full. We later learned that they were testing a dam that they had repaired. So while the water was low, it was still beautiful and smooth as glass. I think the fact that the water was so low, it kept people away and we felt like we had the whole reservoir to ourselves.

June-Palooza

We have eight family birthdays in the month of June and the first two weeks of July. We decided to combine it into one summer event we've nicknamed June Palooza! It was a hot, summer Saturday in Lindon and we played water kickball, Kenny slow roasted and smoked brisket, we had water guns and potluck barbecue. We had a cake for everyone. One cake for everyone....
So awesome to have everyone here!
