Another new store

This week we opened a new store in American Fork!  We are just hoping the economy continues to head in the right direction!  This store is in a prime location, right next to a Bed Bath & Beyond and Ross, by Home Depot and Walmart in a hustling bustling shopping area.

The previous occupant was also a mattress store run by a little old guy who was retired, but his health was failing.  We had to repaint and add carpet and it looks great inside now.  We have done no advertising yet but are encouraged by the number of people who have just walked in the couple of days we have been setting up and unpacking.  Though the timing has been challenging with family in town for the birthday celebration, we took advantage of some family to help us!

After visiting with their other family in American Fork,  my niece and her husband (seen on the floor) assembled a couple of IKEA nightstands and Karl's brother helped set up the computer.  Nice of them to spend their vacation helping us!!   Our Sealy rep told us that the other small furniture/mattress stores in the area are worried that we are moving in, how cool is that!!  Wish us luck!!

The Tabernacle Choir..featuring Betty Tobler!

(Actual pictures of event to follow...)
Tonight my mother-in-law has been invited to rehearse with the Tabernacle choir.  This is a honor available to a limited number of people.  Requests are accepted for non LDS members, people from outside the USA, or people over 80.  All must have musical, singing backgrounds.  So her son, Karl, submitted her name because she is turning 80 this weekend  she was accepted and she is singing tonight.  Her children and several grandchildren will be at rehersal to watch tonight.  When studying Family History we learned that her grandmother, Sara Elizabeth Smith Noall  was in the choir from 1878 - 1905 and her aunt Clair Noall was in the choir in 1878.  Should be a fun beginning to her birthday weekend!!

POST Script:
So at 5:00 on Thursday the 10th, while Betty was going over the music for the rehearsal with Marianne and Karl, her other son, Gareth, and daughter, Valine, and their spouses, (who has flown in to surprise her) walked up quietly behind her.  A moment or so later she turned around and as realization swept across her the tears began to flow.  She was in a state of shock for a while as we wisked her off for dinner and then to the tabernacle.

Happy that his mom is there...
While the choir rehearsed we were taken on tour beneath the tabernacle to see the locker rooms, the music library, rehearsal rooms and offices.  It was fascinating and informative.  I think it was a memorable evening for all involved!
