It's all about family!

"A picture is worth a thousand words", so I will post pictures and keep my words to a minimum. Our whole clan was together for a few precious days. My heart was so full! The following pictures were taken at Murray Park. Natalie made all the girls dresses, she and Reese made the hair flowers. This was a difficult one to get! Here we have a 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 year old!! I love all these kooky people!!

I will never put up wallpaper again...

Laura and I began remodling her room. I loved the yellow walls and old fashioned paper, but it was time. Sometimes it takes another persons perspective to help you realize that it's not all that great anymore. So the remodel involved MANY steps. Step one was to empty her room of furniture and stuff hanging on the walls. Step 2 was to remove the wallpaper border and paper above it. When I put it up we used 'sizing', it still was a chore to get it off.
Cleaning up the mess is also part of Step Two,
Step 3: was removing the old baseboards. Step 4: cleaning the blinds and washing all 8 sides of the window. Step 5: was having the electrician come and make the old 2 plug outlets into 4 plug outlets. Step 6: was preparation for painting: caulking old nail holes and masking off the woodwork. Step 7: was painting the walls - 2 coats did it, (with Behr's paint and primer mix. Step 8: I repainted the white dresser - (and that really perked it up!) Step 9: we primed and painted the baseboards and boards for the "Board and batten" project. Step 10: was to repaint the doors and trim - not a new color, just a freshening up. Step 11: Handyman Hone installed the board & batten treatment-- I LOVE IT!! and put in the new 5" baseboards. Step 12: We had the carpet cleaned, (there were places that had not seen carpet cleaners- ever).
We have a few things remaining before the project is finished: We've ordered a bench/ seat for the window, there is a small ceiling fan being installed, and we have to finish putting the small ledge on the top of the board and batten. Then there is the problem of the bedding. We want one that Kohls has - or had but is out of stock everywhere on the planet. So if you see this in your local Kohls in a Queen size LET US KNOW!!
Laura spray painted a side table, a large floor vase and her mirror in bright yellow- the whole thing is going to be so great when it is done!! I'll post the reveal when all the elements come together. It's nice to have Laura's mattress and stuff back in her room and not in the hallway anymore.
