Filming commercials

I spent an hour at KUTV on Tuesday with Karl so he could make a 15 commercial advertising a clearance sale for this weekend.
The guy that puts these together is great, has a stopwatch and timed Karl over and over to get the right length of time. We were dropping words and changing to words with less syllables so we could get the message across in 10 seconds.
They filmed this infront of the green screen because they were using photos of the store and the warehouse behind him. I tried to attach the complete version of the commercial but blogger won't let me. :( Just a fun little insight to what we do to stay busy!!

Short Vacation - Long on Fun!!

Karl, Laura, myself and Laura's friend(from work)Kamry took off Sunday afternoon and drove to Page, Arizona, stayed in the Courtyard Marriott for 2 nights and played at Lake Powell Monday and Tuesday. Laura and her friend have never been there before. Katie Jo was supposed to come with us, but ended up at the ER the night before with a ruptured cyst, so she stayed home and rested.
We rented a ski boat on Monday and explored a canyon, Kamry showed us how to wakeboard, Karl proved he can still Kneeboard, they jumped off some rocks, we swam, picniked, and some of us got sunburned... not me. Karl and Laura did not get the sunblock on soon enough and fried.
We rented 2 3-person jet skis on Tuesday and spent the day exploring all the coves that a boat is too big for. It was an absolute blast! (Sorry, Katie). It is nice to see Lake Powell this way. We don't own a boat, but we didn't have to haul a boat or skis, pay to insure them, store them all year, pay for maintenance, etc. Then, to go back to an air conditioned hotel room and have a shower, it was great. We have stayed on a house boat before, and that is fun, but it's soooooo much work.
This picture shows an Arch, we saw it on the map but almost missed it in the canyon, we were on our way back out and found it - you couldn't see it going the other direction.
I was fascinated at how the sandstone just crumbled when touched.
It was 110 degrees on Tuesday, but that was great, the only time we noticed was when we got to the car and had to run the air conditioner before we could get in. The rest of the time we were on the lake, in the lake or getting sprayed from the lake! So much fun.
